Jitian Xingwen | Earth Selfie - Every frame is a masterpiece of nature!
2025-03-06
Suzhou No.1 Satellite (Jitian Star A-03) and Jilin University No.1 Satellite (Jitian Star A-01) are the first generation optical remote sensing satellites of Jitian Xingzhou's independently developed optical remote sensing experimental constellation. The satellite is equipped with an independently developed "high timeliness, high geometry, high spectrum" optical camera, which has conventional and dynamic imaging capabilities. The ground panchromatic and hyperspectral resolution is 3m, and the width is 15km.
If the Earth could take selfies, then satellites would be its exclusive photographers. From space, this blue-green planet is sometimes adorned with the colors of wetlands, sometimes with the golden hues of deserts, and sometimes with the dreamy embellishments of salt lakes. Today, let's appreciate the artist Earth's' straight out selfie 'through satellite cameras!
Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Maryland, USA
The Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, captured by satellite cameras, exhibits a gradual color gradient in the seawater of its bay due to the degree of sediment accumulation. At the end of February, the land in the protected area was covered with a light reddish brown color, and the dense tidal channels on the land branched out in a tree like pattern, forming a blue-green wetland system that added a warm touch to the intersection of this wetland and the ocean. This is an important habitat for migratory birds and the core area of wetland ecosystems, carrying the delicate balance of the Earth's natural cycle.
Qinghai Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture
Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is a typical high-altitude and dry continental climate zone. Due to its vast territory, complex topography, and intersecting distribution of steep mountains, hills, basins, valleys, and lakes, it forms a unique natural environment. This place is known as the 'forbidden zone of life', but it is also home to more than 30 rare wild animals such as Tibetan antelopes, Tibetan wild donkeys, and black necked cranes. On this land of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, a satellite accidentally captured a scene composed of layers of mountain ranges resembling a "giant elephant", like the guardian deity of this plateau land, presenting a magnificent scenery.
Qinghai Cha'erhan Salt Lake
Cha'erhan Salt Lake is located in Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. From a satellite perspective, the water in the Cha'erhan Salt Lake presents a unique emerald green color, which is due to the high concentration of brine and minerals in the lake reflecting and refracting light under sunlight. The salt lake is divided into multiple regular areas by salt dikes, and when viewed from above, these areas are arranged like a chessboard, resembling a huge natural color palette. This is not only the world's second largest salt lake, but also an important potassium fertilizer production base in China, providing indispensable resources for agricultural development. The mining and protection of salt lakes are equally important, and while promoting economic development, the local area actively explores ecological tourism and sustainable development models. Every year, it attracts a large number of tourists to witness this' emerald like miracle 'and injects new vitality into the local culture.
South bank of Lake Beishehir, Türkiye
A layer of white fog is covered near Hasikif Island in the south of Türkiye's Beishehir Lake. The white fog forms a sharp contrast with the sharp edge of the shore, showing a unique beauty of harmony. This is not only a treasure of natural scenery, but also an important symbol of local culture and ecology. As one of the largest freshwater lakes in Türkiye, Lake Beysehir provides important support for agricultural irrigation and fishery in the surrounding areas, and is the pillar of local regional economic development.

Hala Mangrove Reserve in Iran
The Hala Mangrove Reserve is located in a saltwater environment in the central part of Gesham Island, Iran. It is a network consisting of shallow waterways and forests. The winding waterways within the protected area interweave with the root system of the mangrove forest, forming a unique tree crown or root shape that even bears a striking resemblance to the Chinese character for "water". In this picture, the blending of water and trees presents a rhythm of life, as if the earth is writing its own words with the most natural strokes. This is a stage where mangroves dance with the ocean, and it is also the most dynamic artistic creation of nature.

Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang
At the foot of the Tianshan Mountains in western Xinjiang, satellite cameras captured a stunning scene: sand blown by the wind was like waves, layer by layer crashing against the "coast", probably created by the tacit cooperation of wind and sand on Earth, creating a "desert ocean".
Towns along the Leva Highway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
The Leva Desert is the second largest desert in the world, located less than 200 kilometers from Abu Dhabi, and is also the largest continuous desert in the world. It's still hard for an outsider to imagine that there is such a winding road through the endless sand dunes, connecting this uninhabited area. Scattered desert towns are scattered on both sides of the highway, witnessing the history of the UAE people's transition from desert nomadism to urban settlement. This is the intersection of human intelligence and natural forces, where modern architecture and primitive desert landscapes coexist harmoniously, forming a futuristic picture.
Leva Desert, United Arab Emirates
October to April of the following year is the best time to visit the Leva Desert. Unlike the previous heat, the desert climate at this time is cool. Entering winter, the unique climate of the Leva Desert will form natural and clean ice lakes among the sand dunes, with blue waters dotted like gems, creating a strong contrast with the golden sand sea. Under the satellite lens, this' desert blue lake 'seems like a miracle scattered by nature, with vitality hidden in the desolation and vitality in the silence. This is the most touching scenery outlined by the earth with the simplest colors.
Abu Dhabi Jubail Island, United Arab Emirates
Jubail Island is a shining pearl of Abu Dhabi's "2030 Economic Vision" in the United Arab Emirates. From a satellite perspective, on Jubail Island, the low rise architectural complex is embedded in a soft geometric form into the natural base - the mangrove forest winds like jade meridians, the lagoon and artificial waterway shimmer with sparkling waves, and the light colored villas are scattered among them. The island forms a triangular layout with Yas Island and Sadiat Island, surrounded by the deep blue waters of the Persian Gulf. The beach and breakwater outline a delicate coastline, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of artificial development and marine environment. This is not only a paradise for ecotourism, but also a model of sustainable development, painting a blueprint for prosperity and green coexistence for the future.
From wetlands to deserts, from mountains to lakes, the earth paints breathtaking pictures with the purest colors and most unique textures. The Earth from a satellite perspective is not only a planet, but also a great artist. Every frame is a masterpiece of nature, worth appreciating and protecting with our hearts.
