[Jitian Vision] A Visa-Free Journey to the Clouds – Australia’s Lifeline: The Diamantina River
2025-06-27
Suzhou-1 Satellite (Jitianxing A-03) and Jilin University-1 Satellite (Jitianxing A-01) are the first two satellites to launch a new generation of optical remote sensing technology from the Jitianxingzhou constellation. Equipped with independently developed high-speed, high-geometry, and high-spectral optical cameras, the satellites offer both conventional and in-motion imaging capabilities, with a ground-based panchromatic, multispectral, and hyperspectral resolution of 3 meters and a swath width of 15 kilometers.
As the Jitian twin satellites pass over the Southern Hemisphere, they offer a "visa-free" journey from the clouds to the Australian hinterland, where you can gaze upon the millennia-old marks carved by the Diamantina River on the red earth continent.
The Diamantina River's Millennium Epic
Satellite imagery reveals a breathtaking landscape larger than the United Kingdom. This time-tested red soil not only preserves geological traces from the dinosaur era and millennia-old cultural codes of its indigenous peoples, but also embodies the pulse of the earth, which can only be fully captured from space.

The Diamantina River's channel system is like a "vascular network" exposed beneath the skin of the earth: dark dry riverbeds meander and interweave on the red soil. After millions of years of cutting, sedimentation and diversion, the 158,000 square kilometers of the river basin have been carved into a "breathing living texture" on the earth's surface.

Under the scorching sun, the torrent recedes, the riverbed shrinking to intermittent dark ribbons. However, in the low-lying areas, waterholes, known as "desert gems," emerge. These azure specks, like scattered stars, nourish birds, reptiles, and even crocodiles. The green outlines of drought-tolerant vegetation at the riverbed's edges bear witness to the intelligent game between life and drought.

For the Dieri people, who have lived here for generations, this river holds a sacred name—"Yamni," meaning "Mother's Blood." It's not just a geographical landmark, but also a cultural anchor and the foundation of survival. The striking contrasts of drought and flood within the basin, the vibrant life beneath the desolate surface, and the rich tapestry of ancient legends all combine to create a landscape that embodies both the might of nature and the resilience of life. From space, this "red earth vein" speaks with its primordial tension of the Earth's interior, revealing the majesty and endless vitality of life.
[Jitian Vision] takes you beyond the surface, re-examining Earth from space, revealing the awe-inspiring wonders of nature, crafted over eons—a unique fusion of technological advancements and the earth's natural might.
